Biography
Kara is a dedicated healthcare professional whose journey began in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she was born and raised. Her educational background includes a BSN from George Mason University then an Accelerated Nursing Program as well as her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at the University of Pittsburgh. Throughout her career she has honed her skills at the Level IV NICU at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Her experience in this high-acuity environment has instilled in her a deep understanding of neonatal care and the importance of compassionate patient support.
In her pursuit of professional excellence, Kara has always been committed to staying at the forefront of nursing practice. She is passionate about advocating for her patients and their families, striving to foster an environment of hope and healing during the most challenging times. Her expertise, combined with her collaborative spirit, enables her to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.
Outside her professional life, Kara cherishes the moments spent with friends and family. An enthusiastic outdoor adventurer, Kara enjoys hiking with her dog, Higgins, often exploring any hikes in the area. Additionally, she is an avid sports enthusiast, watching the Green Bay Packers, running, playing ultimate frisbee and participating in local kickball leagues. As Kara embarks on her new journey in Northern Virginia, she looks forward to embracing new opportunities for growth, both personally and professionally.
